Multi-Family Residential Construction

2009 IECC

Effective April 1, 2011, the Texas State Energy Conservation Office adopted the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for commercial, industrial and residential building over three stories. The code applies to R2, R3 and R4 residential buildings and excludes one- and two-family residences of three stories or less above grade.

2015 IECC - Effective Nov. 1, 2016

As published in the Janaury 1, 2016 edition of the Texas Register, SECO amended the 34 Texas Administrative Code §19.53 establishing the 2015 IECC as the energy code for multifamily residential buildings over three stories, effective Nov. 1, 2016.
